what do we call ourselves.
a 'bunch of kiters?' when there is more than three?
is 20+ a gaggle?

Well, we're known as space monkeys, and the collective nouns for monkeys are troop, cartload and barrel, according to this...

cartload easily translates well to ****load, which is also about right when there's 20 of us on the water in the same place at the same time.

Potfull, string and mobile are nice.

I think a flock of kiters is good, given our airborne aspirations..

Or mebbe a windfull of kiters
windfarm of kiters.
..kettle of kiters?
..whirlwind of kiters (especially with beginners doing unintentional kiteloops:)
seasonal kiters are a migratory flock.

If it was a kitesurfing race (do they still run them?), the group of kiters would probably be called a Fleet.

If it was a large group of kiters at my local point-break, I would probably call it an unwanted crowd.
