Hi to you all
I'm coming this week to work a month in Canberra.
in this month i have about a week of vacation.
I would like ideas where to go kitting, and any other tips that you might think of:
which kite to bring (10m or 13m)? will I need a wet suit? how to get to the spot?
accomodation (not expensive, pls)?...

this is my first time in Australia.
thanks,
Nir

G'day Nir,

unfortunatly for u, this is one of the worst times of year for kiting unless u can make it to nth qld where it is the start of their season. The season in the southern states is over. The best you can hope for is the odd southerly(every couple of weeks). From canberra you would head east towards batemans bay. I dont come from that area but I am sure that area would have some good spots to ride in a southerly. The local kite store would be able to point u in the right direction. Otherwise u might get some westerlys(tend to be quite fickle and also gusty) u may even b able to ride westerlys in canberra, again I am not sure as I dont come from that area. Where I live just nth of Sydney we ride westerlys on the lakes. Also u should bring your wet suit water temp is between 18-20 degrees, I am not sure how much u weigh, but u r more likely to get 10m weather as when it blows in winter it blows hard. On the plus side if u r a surfer the winter swells are just starting to arrive.
