There are some great spots in Capte Town,

Blouberg Beach - Top Kite beach (Neil Pryde and Cabrina Test Team uses Blouberg)

Langebaan is unreal kiting for both beginner and experianced kiting.

Cape Towns winds are very smilair to Perth so dont worry about the big kite in Dec

Contact a guy called Grant Ross, +27 21 (0) 556 7910 he will help provide much needed advice

All the best - some links below

im not sure if it has spots listed, langebaan is great for all water sports (ive only dived there) but some times has huge currents.

i saw some guys going from yzerfontein last dec/jan, ****ing cold water compared to the east coast.
try to meet up with a sa kiter as its not a place you want to get lost in.

www.ikiteboarding.com is based in Cape Town and a good site.

Tip number 1, bring a long wetsuit, no matter what time of year.
Tip 2, you don't want to try public transport here so organise a hire car if you haven't already
Tip 3, would almost not bother with medium kite as well as large kite, the wind HOOTS!. I don't mean it literally though, just trying to make a point. It doesn't come through as regular as Perth either, and is a bit gustier.

You will find this is the most crowded time with hundreds of Euro's escaping the cold and flogging to Blouberg and Langebaan.

There is hundreds of places to kite... windfinder.com is brilliant for Cape Town (The forecast is *pretty* reliable... Also, the SMS wind service there is very useful, and the data is 3 hours delayed on the windfinder site (forecast vs. current conditions)

Do take all your kites(7m - 17m, bigger not needed). The wind is normally (SE) 16 knots in the morning, 25 - 35 knots after lunch, backing down to 18 at dusk...

Most local guys are really friendly. as suggested, do a search on ikiteboarding.com for car rental... a lot of cheap options are listed in the forums, but might be rented out. Impossible to go without a car.

Get medical insurance (Public health care poor, private = brilliant), insure your kites. Frequent thefts from the cars... never leave anything in your car. Otherwise Cape Town is pretty safe and very cheap and the parties are massive!
