i was going out then went to do a turn to come back in....
a gust came, picked me up.... i went sooooooooooooooo high up into the air.... landed it though then fell on my butt
but my kite went stupid on me and pulled me up again (without my board though) and got slammed into the water.
i was so scared and shaken up but have gotten over that now
i just wanted to find out if anyone saw??... if i really did go as high up as i think???.... how stupid did i really look??? he he... and then can verify it to steve so he believes me!

Somebody must have been watching.
Exactly the same thing happened to me last season. A few seconds after heading out on a perfectly reasonable day, I was lofted. My board slipped off and I splashed down but then my kite started looping. I was ripped in and out the of the water 4 times before I had the sense to hit my quick release. Some people did see me and said later it was pretty spectactular. I looked like a rag doll, upside down, tossed about. I ended up about 100m downwind from my board and very very sore. But it does feel better if someone was watching you, Nonikkers.
Hey, a bunch of us were watching a girl at Pelican Point a few weeks ago learning in a bikini top. She obviously had no idea what we were waiting and watching for ... <grin>
