Great spot 2mins from woolgoolga(woopi to the locals),NE or SE.
If you drive up onto woopi headland and look south you will see a small island that is flat on top(guess thats why its called flattop island derrrrrrrrr) with a bit of a sand spit running out to it.
There are only about 4 of us that live here and kite it ,with the odd tourist passing by.Most days looking to find someone else to kite with.
How long you here for?Send us a message when you will be here and we can hook up for a kite.
There is also 4 or so pole dancers that get out here,we all co-exist and get along well, great spot, fun waves,SE or NE is cross shore.
As for good wind in March,?????????????? who knows, the wind has been all over the place this summer.

Hey lotofwind

Looking at moving down that way very soon with work. What is your season and what type of wind strengths and typical conditions do you experience there?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Not keen on the move unless the kiting conditions are good. Life's to short not to enjoy ourselves.....

Cheers

Im not sure what part of Qld you are from Capt.Gumby but around here we get pretty much the same wind as the Gold Coast.NE through summer kicking in most arvos around 2pm and then mixed winds through winter, but this summer has been all over the place with heaps of SE ers and rain and swell.
Some great spots with in 2hrs from here both flat and waves, most of the time with no one else in the water.
Grreat part of the world
