botany bay, you can pretty much ride in any direction.

Well most of the spots are pretty obvious.

The Berry turn off on 7 mile beach for NE + waves (Gerroa itself is cross offshore in a NE, you should really go further down the beach. Most people drive down to the Berry turn off)
Jervis Bay covers every direction, depending on which beach you go to. Moona Moona creek seems to be the main spot for NEsters. Dr Surf did a nice pdf map of the area.

Culburra has some nice flat water + surf, with instructors if you want them.
