Appears the wind dropped around 8 and Kitebro berilied up for the fisher men sometime before dawn, explains that funny looking parachute thingy they found wrapped around the prop .
I have kayaked overnight in the moonlight and its all rather sedate and safe. What is the risk at night and does it happen regularly. ? (I am perhaps stupidly interested)
Just saw these comments now after getting no love that night...
I did end up getting out for a good 2 hours from about 7.30 - 9.30. Conditions were PERFECT! Wind was smooth, it was a clear night with a half moon so there was plenty of light. Tide was running out, there wasn't a lot of chop and I had the place all to myself!
Launching and landing was a little sketchy alone but I triple checked everything before getting out. Set up and packed up in front of my car lights and kited under moon light with occasional onlookers providing extra light across the water from their cars.
Could have been dangerous with other kites out and no lights on my rig but didn't have that problem. I would definitely do it again provided the conditions were right, amazing night!
