Visiting NSW this coming xmas and looking to book a holiday house for a week.
We'd be driving from the blue mountains area (4 adults and 5 kids)

I'm the only one kitesurfing. The teenagers will want to play in the waves a bit.

Any suggestions for good spots that would keep everyone happy? Would Gerroa be OK? Or would I be better off at shoalhaven heads? Any other ideas also appreciated.

Cheers

6 2 1, 1/2 doz to the other

gerroa one end of the beach

shoalhaven heads the other

though it is a pretty long beach

some say its about 7 miles long

gerroa for everyone else

shoalhaven for you

gerroa is spastic with people, fat pasty white sydney tourist people with no idea, people who send their kids off to swim amongst the windsurfers and kiters rather than inbetween the flags in the corner and who then take indignant whingey stands about how unsafe the actions of the windsurfers and kiters are.

shoalhaven van park is nice and off the busy busy highway, the pond is pleasent for water activities if a little holey and gusty for kiting, the beach is a bit onshore but the wind swell is usually twice the size of the gerroa end (unless there's swell then gerroa is all time - except for the pasty fat sydney tourists)

and you're only about 60km from the two best kiting beaches on the coast...

Cheers Doc.

Sounds like it will work out fine.

I'm too embarrassed to ask you to spell that one out for me...

Thanks to everyone who replied here and via PM. We've booked a house in Gerroa for a week.

On that subject, has anyone ever kited Walkers beach by the golf course? Too small? Too far to carry gear?
