Hi NSWelshmen and Women
I am moving up to Suffolk Park in March. Have done a couple of seasons here in Melbourne and am super keen to get kiting up there. And before you pay me out for being a Victorian I'm actually a Tasmanian living in Melbourne!
Any tips on spots, kite size and anything else you think I need? Look forward to meeting some of you when I am up there.

Well... can anyone tell me what kind of season I can expect to kite in? What months are a typical season?

Season starts around September and finishes around end of March/April. Spring seems to bring the strongest and most consistent breeze, summer a bit weaker. Following summer it's generally all over, a few odd days in lead up to winter. This is Gold Coast though, Northern Rivers is similar.
Most people here riding 9 to 12, depending on conditions. As for kite spots, try lennox head beach (not the point) and you're likely to meet some local crew

Many thanks Stock. I was up there in Winter and a guy was kiting in Byron in the onshore. Still warmer than the Vicco winter's so I'd be keen to give that a go.
