Hi everyone Im looking at getting into kitesurfing and have been looking at set ups. I currently have been using a trainer kite and im booked in to start some lessons in a week up in sydney.

What size kite should I get im 6" and weigh 83 kilos.
I like the Naish Bolt .....recomendations??

I dont mind paying money and getting good gear straight up I just want to get something I can use on the flat or in the surfn eventually.

Also
Im from wollongong
Is there a local club or meet day to come get tips and advice?

Hey Mate,

Surprised that no one's replied yet, there's a good crowd in the Wollongong area and I'm sure you'll find them on the beach easily enough when it's windy. Or gave a look at the lake over winter during the westerly winds and have a chat with the locals, they're friendly enough :)

As for gear, my advice would be to wait until you've had a lesson or two and talk to your instructor.

Hey Eagle
They windsurf at the start of Purry Burry Point and
Kite board at the very tip of the point, there is a jetty there and if you type in Kitesurf primbee you can see some footage...
Cheers

Dont even try Primbee in a Westerly if you are a beginner. launch area is definately a no go. Always get an assisted launch and land in this area, otherise be prepared to be wapped around a tree and lofted and dragged along the gravel carpark. You have been warned.
