In New Castle I have only been kiting in Belmont South on the lake. The water is shallow, now waves, great winds in the morning and very safe. At least from a beginner's point of view. The only problem I had was the cold water. But that was in the middle of the winter.
Hope you like it :)

That's the beautiful thing about that spot. Doesn't really matter. At least that's what I know. I could be wrong. Maybe someone can confirm?

mike dobee is talking about squids ink caravan park just outside of belmont thats only kiteable in a nor wester. if you search the aksa map or google kitesurfing spots nsw/ newcastle ull find that there is a map there. but theres plenty of spots for every wind u just have to be friendly to the locals n ask lots of questions as there is razor fish in the lake and other issues depending on spots.

Hey,
I'm also new in Newcastle. I study here for one semester and I'm going back to Germany in end of February. Is there something like a facebookgroup for kiters around Newcastle? when not we should make one. then it is easier to organizes some session together.
