Hey NSW Kiter,

I'm a month off in july and driving up the eastcoast to get some sun in brissie (-:
tassie is freezing at the moment.
thinking about taking my gear with me, but have no idea about the winds at this time of the year on the eastcoast.
have a 6, 10 and 12m kite and a 142boardwith 92kg.
Is it worth taking the gear, or a part of it, with me?
And where are the spots I shouldn't miss?
Prefer flatwater (-:

Thanks for ur help, cheers from freezing tassie, Andi

your most likely to get westerlies(mainly offshore) winds in july. These are very gusty and inconsistant. There are not that many spots to ride westerlies, but the east coast is big so there are opportunitys in every area. If lugging gear is an issue I would say don't bother bringing your gear, but if it is not a hassel I would say bring a kite or 2 you might get lucky. Wind could be anywhere from 10 knots to 40 knots so its pot luck really. I would probably just bring your 10. Check the nswkba website for suggestions but your best bet is google earth. Have fun

Hey elhucko, how's the trip going?
I'm not sure but I think the lake macquarie and all those ones around newcastle would be good for Westerlies?
But this week has been smoking with the northies in the bay.
cheers
