Hello,

I'm going to Australia on the 20/07/08 until end of august.
I'll be landing in Sydney and then from then I plan to rent a van and drive north along the coast and stop by for kite sessions whenever I can!
As it will be my first time in Australia I do not have much infos on where to kite and what are the best spot

Should anyone have some advices on some places to see, some secret kite spots ;-), some travels information like car rental infos, motels..;etc

Please let me know it will be really helpfull!

For info I'll bring along a 12M Liquid Force Assault, and a 8m Royal Era, with a Wipika twintip board!

Thanks for any infos!

Regards

Julien

Hi Julien - I will be following your post because I am visiting Australia around the same time. I am interested in hearing from the locals, where to find the best wind, waves, and good times.

Hi Julio,

Sorry for the late reply, unfortunately you haven't picked the best time for the trip as it is cold right now and mostly off shore winds.

Your best bet would be to head north towards queensland.

Sydney has been getting westerlies with the occasional Southerly so there hasn't been much riding except for botany bay.

If you head north there are the lakes near newcastle that are great for westelies, otherwise further up the coast to Forster is good to.

Check out www.nswkba.com.au for some more info on kitespots.

Cheers
Gav
