HI fellow Kiteboarders,
I just arrived from Singpore last night and staying in Manly. Anyone out there willing to give me the lay of the land? Looking for some good kiteboarding spots in the area?

Much appreciated!

Hi Laila,

This time of year is pretty awful for kiting in sydney. There are plenty of kiters up your way in town. Most the time they kite Long Reef but in westerly winds either travel upto newcastle area or down to dolls point/boat harbour or kurnell.

Have a look on the nswkba website: www.nswkba.com.au where you will find maps showing the areas near you and by the airport (south of the harbour bridge) that you can kite and the wind directions.

If you'd like a couple of phone numbers of kiters in your area let me know and I'll ask if they'd mind me passing on so you can at least have people to hook up with if the wind is up.

Hope you're having fun in Sydney.

Caela

PS - by the way please don't kite in Manly. Some people chose to do it but they are very experienced and skilled kiters, it's an area which is under scrutiny and possible bans being imposed. Thankyou
