I`m planing to move to Sydney in february for studying at the UNSW and for kite-surfing ;-) Does anyone have some special tips where to live near a nice spot.. or somewhere "the kiters" live?
Hi just I remark about where to live. I had an exchange semester a unsw 2.5 years ago. Unsw is close to coogee beach, which is not a kitesurfing beach. The nice spots as mentioned are norther beaches or down south botany, Cronulla.
Without car and public transport it'll take your more than 1 hour (at least, depending on when as well) to get from uni to these spots (to northerbeaches at lest 1.5 hours).
So it more depends if you wanna spent 2-3 hours each day with public transport to get to and home from uni. Or spent the time when u go kiteboarding. (i guess after all you'll go more often to uni than to go kiteboarding, if you lucky you meet some kitesurfer which might be able to give you to give lift)
I'm sorta in a simliar dilemma. I just started working at sydney uni, i dont wanna travel more than 45 min do work, like to live close to beach, but also don't wanna ride to long to a proper kitesurfing spot. So some sorta compromise i needed ;).
Hey there! So I understand the cronulla is the best place to live when u want to practice on flat water?? Is it also possible to rent some gear overthere?! I'm going to syndey next week and i still have to practice alot
Hey K trin Ok make it easy for ya not the best place to live but will suit you, Rockdale is fairly cheap but try to live on the east side of the railway line west side not that nice, its a 5 min bus rid to brighton le sands and a 10 min bus ride from Dolls point 2 good sailing spots in sydney and Kite power is located down there as well for repairs and stuff, Next for your educational needs UNSW is a 30 min bus ride from rockdale station cant remenber the No. though
