I've finally given in and decided I need to make the switch from wind to kitesurfing. Great lesson in Botany bay on saturday but could really do with a place where I can screw it up completely, end up down wind and walk back up the beach... is there anywhere that works a vaguely reasonably distance from sydney? I'm wondering it the entrance might be good? any reccos much appreciated.

the entrance is good in winter because you can use all wind directions and its shallow but it's really cold.
if you go off at the skate park ( boat ramp) there is a deep channel only about 30m across but its nice and shallow for ages on the othe side, best spot ever and nobody around.
there are other ways to tame the wind.
