Hey, gave my mates 12m griffin a go last week. I didn't mind the kite to start with... until I ditched the kite into the drink. (I know I know DONT DITCH THE KITE) when I relaunched, the bridal was caught around the wing tip and things got ugly. I popped the safety but the flaggin line was one of the lines caught, so that didn't help at all.
I'm not sure if that was just a freak incident or is a common occurrence with these kites. I did a Google search and something came up about "bridal deflectors" but I couldn't get into the info.
I would like to give it another go this week, but will give in with this beast if it's a common fault.

Been riding for over 10 years and have managed to wrap the tip on at least 10 different brands of kite, its just one of those things that can happen,if a kite gets rolled over with slackline bridals can get snagged its a fact of life, thats what the saftys there for, mini bridal systems are the way to go these days so the bridal is just short of wrapping over a tip although nothin's foolproof.

Cool. Thanks for the insight.

+1 for what radman said.

Bridles tangle from time to time. The only way to avoid it is to fly kites without bridles.

Had another go on Tuesday without incident. No big swim or walk. Just have to work on a bit of technique now.
