Gday all, ive just started kite surfing and picked myself up a 9m best waroo. i cant work out if i,m doing the right thing with the power/depower strap that it has, basically when i have it fully powered up it still has very little pull to it. ive only been gut dragging but me mate whos been teaching me took it out on the board and found he was struggling to get much power from it either. maybe someone out there knows if you can make an adjustement to the lines to get more power? or is this kite just not got that much guts to it???..any info would be heaps appreciated..

How much do you weigh?
What was the wind strength when you and your mate were trying it?
Did you connect the rear lines to the 3rd knot from the kite?

I weigh just under 70kg , I had the line attatched to the knot closest to the bar. It was blowing about 17 knots. My mate prob weighs about 85 to 90 kg. He struggled to power it up and even though I'm not even on the board yet I didn't feel much pull getting dragged. Just want to know if it's the kite or if some difference could be made with a new line and bar setup. Cheers for helpin out mate.

by making the outside lines shorter, you will get more power. connect the outside lines to the knot closest to the kite. I found this out while having the same problems. I also shortened the lines near the bar as there are often connections there too.

I own a 2007 Waroo, definitely nothing wrong with the kite.

I have always set mine up 3rd knot from the end.

Dont do this ^^^^, it will be impossible to fly, you will oversheet constantly and crash it trailing edge down directly downwind of you.

like others have said about the 3rd knot should do.

Also, its a 9m kite in 17 knots of wind, thats not a big kite and thats not a lot of wind
