Asking which kite is best here is like asking an AFL forum which team is the best....you are not going to get a helpful answer....and Cabrinhas are like Collingwood, heavily slagged by those that don't follow them, but not necessarily better or worse on a given day than any other.....
Apart from that tree magnet Cab install in the LE.....sorry, sorry, didn't mean that...habit

The biggest issue is that few people have tried more than a couple of brands/models of kite, so most opinions are pretty subjective and biased. 80% of the people who slag Cabrinah wouldn't have even flown one (like me), just as 80% of the people who espound the virtues of a particular kite would have flown only a few others.
The thing is most leading manufacturers create kites that for all intents and purposes are pretty similar. All have a range with good beginner kites in them. Check the websites of Slingshot, North, Airush, Ozone, Niash, Liquid Force, Best (and more I am sure). They are all leading brands in Oz and all have entry kites that perform pretty much the same as the Switchblade.
Therefore it all comes down to
what deal you get on the day
what the local shops are selling
what is available second hand (if going down that path)
what the local lads are flying
Do however make sure you do not get a kite that is not suited for learning on. That is where advice here is important - that and maybe size questions. You will quickly get meaningful replys to a kite that is clearly going to be a problem for you. All else is rabble

Hope that helps
