hi this is just a caution for all us newbies(use it,don't, it is you choice)

been kitesurfing for a while now, going upwind easy, riding well doing small jumps ,turning nicely, swicth to invert and holding edge well,so basically kite surfing allright.

then i started to boost big airs, landing 6/10 nicely
i ended up braking my femur in my leg because i landed on a sandbank in the water(i did not see it)

the reason for posting is to remind you to remember that when one jumps you travel a long way downwind ,make sure it is safe where you are going to land

regards

Good point Zork, bought myself a new 9 C4 an was kiting an Estuary south of Perth. Two days earlier I had one of the best kites ever 25- 28 kts and testing the C4 loopability and all was sweet. Did take note though that some places were only 6 inches deep.

Anyway, wind got up near 25 again two days later and I did a jump but mid jump changed my mind and looped, i was already moving too fast downwind before I looped so the kite was slow and never really got up. I came inlike a stone hoping for a deep patch and got absolutely worked. I was very lucky to hit deep water or I'm sure my injuries would have been more than just some bruises.

Sorry about your leg and hope your up and running again soon.
