Not many kiter-s in my area but what i saw and talk to a few people, some say it's dangerous, some of them crashing hard and some are afraid, some even gave up from it. Only "mad" people doing it.

I had to put this video here because it explains loop very very well and camera angles are great. I had accident with it and alot other people so pls, watch this before even trying to loop. Way faster progression than selflearning it!

I still don't understand why kiteloops aren't explained in schools :\

Think the video And your title should say down loops. Other than KOTA footage 95% of the video was front hand.

Downloops are tame and fun, kiteloops are risk v reward. I've stopped them also after my kite stalled mid loop and i thought i was about to break both my ankles.

I presume (i am noob) that noobs don't know difference between different loops that's why i wrote "kiteloops". Safer way to start with any kind of loop. Few guys i asked didn't mention downloop, just kiteloop. Kinda some more info for beginners since it isn't getting mentioned in schools (not detailed enough), at least not in our schools. Everyone says "watch on yt" or "ask some1 who knows".

no offence but if you are a "noob" as you put it , it is probably best you don't post instructional videos . You have simply made a video on a downloop .

I think they don't explain it as they don't want some kid trying first thing out on his own lol.

The video shows what one needs to master first before trying to learn kite loops – don’t see it out of place, found it quite helpful myself. I am glad it was posted and it is in ‘Newbees’ forum. Who are you to tell people what they are allowed to post?

I am really sorry, i will put this in pro section. No noob should know what to do before practicing loop. I will be thankful if you post a better video because i couldn't find better.

Also, if i saw this video few weeks ago, i wouldn't be licking grass 40 meters. And some other people i know wouldn't be crashing hard on the water. But i am sorry, i am just a plain simple noob, and i will post only what you allow me to post.

That's a good video, thanks for posting. Old news for me but explains downloops well for intermediates. If the moaners had ac rally watched the video, the might have noticed that it was a vital stepping stone to kite loops...

Much better to have half-assed kite skills, unleash the newbie on the water with a board and let them discover the joys of loops by themselves.... unintentionally.

Exactly!

Very well made also. Shared by the OP. Not "made" as claimed by one of the critics..

Fixed your typos too big guy. Yeah, I know.. "auto correct"..

Thanks for sharing. Been wanting to try downloops for light wind days but haven't had the guts to commit yet! Agree that these are handy tips! (Ps, ignore the trolls. They're deliberately trying to get a bite!)

just go for it, down loops are super super easy, just head down wind and loop it so the kite doesn't stall.

I remember my first loop, powerslamed into the ocean at an terrifying speed!
the biggest advice any1 could give you about looping is you cant bail out half way otherwise you will die (like I did). full commitment and you will be killing it. and don't loop on stupid kites, freestyle kites are best!

Cheers. Will definitely remember this! (Might be a bit harder in practice though! Haha!) reckon I'll wait until I have a few days off work to be safe. I'm fairly certain I'm going to get salty sinuses!

Good vid!, although you know how to downloop your kite, it´s always good to watch videos like these, also notice that depending of the kites (type C or Delta or Bow or hybrid) the loop could be much more aggressively, an hybrid C is for me the best, because the pull is constant on the loop (but also different brands behave different in the C segment). When kitelooping, it´s possible to have two types, the easier one is kitelooping when falling from the top and the lines are more lack in tension; after mastering this move, it´s possible to start looping the kite immediately after the pop, making a powered kiteloop, often this move finishes doing a downloop... Here is a downloop transition vid... And it´s always good before trying something new to understand it, and your post will be good for the newbies....

Short answer, no.

The Guy who created the video is 'Anton Chernyshov', a Russian kiter. His website - www.advakite.com

Part one was uploaded to YouTube on 19 March. Looking at his channel, he's not made a follow up yet.

I asked him, he said he has all the material and he is currently editing it (only for E II), if i understood well, there will be 3 episodes; downloop, jump, jump + kiteloop.

Yes, point is to understand the steps, not just go blindly do what we saw others do. I also asked the guy to explain different loop power in different kites, he says he will explain that to in next episode.

I am actually a beginner and didn't even want to try loop, 1 day i did it (on the grass) and got myself in a little trouble, wind wasn't too strong, my luck. Who ever i asked; "go watch on youtube" or "watch others and copy them" or "just pull hard on the bar". Nobody actually did explain it (or don't want).

Best way to start your practice is to body drag out into a clear area and just start looping the kite from the edge of the window, middle of the window etc etc. Get a feel for the power that is generated.

Then attach a board and go and try it.

It helps enormously if you are able to go from toe side to heal side or vice versa when you start doing down loop turns.

i started mucking around with down loops and back loops (non powered kite loops) last summer which was my second season.
i wanna stress that they are really easy to learn and i reckon one of the most important kite tricks as they are awesome for changing direction in jumps. the main thing to remember to to twist your legs and hips so you point downwind when you land.

heres a vid i recently put together which might help as it shows the kite & bar from a gopro on my head and filmed from a distance.

i also learnt how to back loop last season as well. the trick with learning the backloop is to loop it when your basically about to land. this way the kite is already on the edge of the window. once again make sure you tiwst your hips so you point down wind.

i also started to learn dark slides which use the same kind of slow backloop

next season im gonna try backroll kite loops & commit to doing a mega loop ... its pretty intimidating!

Thanks for the video. Just the inspiration I needed to get out and give downloops another go.

I'd tried a downloop transition at the start of the year, but the crossing lines freaked me out enough to bail and leave that trick on shelf. Didn't think of downlooping and continuing the same direction, and that step helped break up the downloop from the transition to practice just getting used to the line tension (used to line twists now from backrolls). Ended up doing 40-50 downloop transitions by the end of the session and they are feeling really comfortable, possibly even easier than a normal sweep when the wind isn't as strong.

That's the good thing about a 'backroll kite loop'. No line twists as you go around in the same direction as the kite

All this kite looping got me a bit excited, so I have been practising my downloops at the end of my runs vigorously.

A couple of the guys throw loops in when they are on a long tack and I got inspire to try a few on an 18m chrono in 8 knots.
First one was very successful and I generated a lot of speed but got pulled five metre downwind from the line I was on.

The second loop I did was just a little bit wider running from twelve oclock all the way to the edge of the window and back. The loop lifted me three metres above the strapless surfboard I was on and took me for a little ride downwind. I was dumped in the water and that's when I lost more control of the kite and did another ten metres under water. Hilarious........ I am ready for the mega loop! :-)
