Hello, just wondering if you may know what I'm doing wrong ?

Core Gts 11, 132 board, 75 kg
Going unhooked for railey , s-bend, railey to blind is working fine, as surface handle passes. But everytime I try a bit more rotation in the air like blind judge or proper backside 313 the kite is pulling me to hard, I even sometimes have to let go off the bar as I cannot hold it ... Tried also in light winds, then I don't get enough pop do... So might be I am to weak but what else could I do wrong ? Thanks for any tips , cheers Marc

I had issues going Railey to Blind where the kite was downlooping as i was passing the bar, Got told i needed to load and pop harder to get more slack so the kite wouldn't steer as fast.

Your problem sounds similar, it sounds like your not getting enough slack or you need to do the trick faster.

That makes perfect sense. I'm not at that level, but I tend to be tentative when looping. I ease into say a backroll with a loop and seem to have way too much pull. Generating good pop and slackening the lines a bit makes sense. Most other guys I see who kiteloop seem to use C kites and I thought maybe by Bandits weren't very suitable? I have the same issue unhooking, too much pull making it hard to hold on, even after depowering heaps. I thought I may try a Hadlow Pro that a mate has and see if that helps. Any suggestions?

^^^forget the kite just HTFU and commit. Even try taking one hand off the bar so your forced to turn it harder

I wasn't saying it was the kite, only to try loading and popping harder. GTS should be fine to do the job.

I agree nick, I was referring to burkeyboys post about getting too much power when looping.

Sorry, didn't make myself clear. I do the roll and loop one handed and have been edging hard and committing. I think the problem is I haven't been popping enough and just relying on the kite to pull me around as that's the advice as I was given. If, as said, I pop more and create some line slack and initiate the roll, I may be less likely to be overpowered.

sounds right to me what your doing burkeyboy. If you try and loop after getting a lot of pop you will probably find you will get more power later in the loop as with slacker lines the kite will take longer to start the turn. Try going into the jump slower and edging higher into the wind so the kite will start to power through the loop straight away and should finish before you land.

Cheers. Wind is picking up nicely here, so just waiting for the tide to drop a bit. What's your opinion on kite size for looping and unhooking? Am I better off in light wind and big kite or smaller kite and better wind? I have a Bandit Dos 8 and 12 and a B3 10m.

lighter winds will have less consequences and even a 12 is quick enough to get around the loop now days. If your just starting to loop wait till the kite has drifted back to 12 before sending it and slowly progress by starting earlier.
