Hi
I am sure you have been asked this a thousand times, I did scroll thru but couldn't see anything about my query!
Yesterday I took my son to a kite surfing intro lesson, which he loved and the guy was "blown away" at how quickly he got a feel for the learner kite a 1.6 3 string?? Was doing figure 8 and triple something's within the hour....
My son is keen to take this further and I am happy for him to do it , but like most kids their attention span is sometimes limited and I hate spending a heap on gear when it ends up sitting in a cupboard.
The place offered me a 1.6 learner kite for around $200
Like all good mothers I came home and Gumtree'd and ebayed to see what I could get used or cheaper.
So my question is does the size of the learner kite matter, he's 10, but little only 27 kg??
On Ebay there are some cheap chinese one in various sizes for $60 shipped,
they also have Symphony Beach ones from the US around the $100 mark, again various sizes and shipping included.
Or on gumtree a used Ozone 2.5 for $100, obviously this is the best buy. Hence my question about the size, him being so small I'm concerned I'd need to tie him down.
Thank you in advance

My young bloke is 10 also, slightly heavier at 29kg. He uses my 2.5 ozone all the time even in moderate to strong winds. I would think the ozone for 100.00 would be your best bet.

I can't comment on the size/weight ratio, but I bought an no brand ebay Chinese kite, then ended up spending the money on a branded trainer (Ozone Ignition 2.5) as the ebay kite was too hard to set up/use.
