Hey, I've had a few lessons around sans souci but all too far apart, (2 steps forward 1 step back) I live on the north shore so its pretty far away from anywhere. I am 75kg and my closest beaches would be Manly, Whale beach and Mona Vale, none of which I regularly see kitesurfers.

Anyone have any tips on what gear to get and where abouts to go? Or just general helpful info?

Cheers

Hi TK17 - also a north shorer so I know your travel woes! Have you had a look at Long Reef?

re buying gear, I bought mine from the guys I learnt with. 2nd hand kite, but new lines. I had to go new for the board and the harness because I'm not average in the size dept, but they do stock 2nd hand boards and harnesses if you are.

the beauty about buying from your school is that it's in their interests to supply you with the right gear - and will probably help you out (within reason) if things go wrong. Of course, they will be pushing particular brands, but then the brands they push will probably be pretty reliable.

good luck
