Yeah you can kite there if you are a member of SAKSA (which is also being a member of the national organisation AKSA). Its one of the best locations with that wind direction for sure. For more flat water stuff you may wanna explore port parham during summer as well (on a SWerly, usually a bit stronger than metro locations as well)

It is really worth signing up to be a member though, that money makes sure that you can continue to kite on the beaches that are open at the moment, gives you access to competing in events, but most importantly, if for some reason your kite goes out of control and hit someone or some property (or even flies down the road if you are unlucky), you are insured for lawsuits that would come together with the personal injuries or damage you may (unintentionally) cause.
SAKSA membership of $125 a year includes this liability insurance, but its also good to know, that besides being covered in SA, you are also covered all over australia, and even overseas as well :)
