Hello,

I've been thinking about giving kiting with a surfboard a go as have been having a bit of fun in the waves on a tt. I wasn't sure what size to really start looking for. I'm 6 foot and weigh 80kg.
How much smaller do you go than what you would normally ride surfing?

Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

Sparky,
Popular topic and lots written about it, do a search.
Basically if your a competent surfer and riding a modern short surfboard then that board is fine.
Dedicated kite board as an order would have less volume, under 6' and a little extra glass, straps to if ya want'em.
As no one will have just one kite nor will you find just one board.
Buy lots of boards and lots of kites locally it's good for the economy!!!
My current do all board is a 5'10 fish with timber keels surfs great and for light wind days it's a blast.

Don't think as a kiteboarder. Think as a surfer. If you want to have fun riding waves, get a "surfboard".

Inserts are optional. If you're not confident on a surfboard and still think you need straps, at least get rid of the tail strap so you are free to move your back foot around as necessary.
