Hi,

Any tips for booting up while flying a kite...?

I have some Ronix District (2013) boots. I haven't used them on the kite yet, took them out wake boarding the other day and they are a pain in the arse to get into.

I have size 9.5 feet, so not overly big. I think they were loosening up a bit by then end of the day wake boarding, but still probably going to be a chalenge to get into with a kite...

Cheers for any tips.

Get it wet first, or use a bit of lube.

I have heard that using a little bit of dish washing liquid is the way to go..
Just squeeze a bit in each boot, walk out and dunk the board underwater and should be easy....

Cheers.

Just put em on. It's not hard. Step in, sit down, do them up. Step two may be omitted if you prefer. You'll get used to it.

i've heard dishwashing liquid can deteriate your bindings. on my oldschool wakeboard bindings I used to used baby shampoo, a bit less potent than dish washing liquid and it washes out pretty quickly as soon as you start riding.

you also can buy specific binding lube, but it's pretty expensive. your bindings are probably just a bit stiff because they are new, most bindings these days are designed to be put on without any lube required.

Back when I used to waterski, I used Binding Slime. Works like magic. From memory it was only about $10 for a bottle that would last me and my mates a whole summer (mind you this was in the mid 90's).

This is a US site, but gives you an idea: www.waterskiworld.com/Binding_Lubricant/binding_lubricant.html

Any waterski supply store has it.

I put my left foot in first, I find it easier to balance that way.

Thanks for all the replies.

I think the biggest thing I'm thinking about now is how hard it will be to put them back on after a big wipeout in deeper water... Are you guys able to boot back up in the water or do you drag in and do it on shore?

The baby wash sounds like a solid plan for the beach...

Cheers.

Deep water is a bit of a pain if you get debooted but it takes a big stack. Can the soap and crap. You know what's harder than getting into clean wet boots? Giving them a bath and then getting into them.

Worry less, ride more.
