Hey there just after some help for relaunch when kite is facing leading edge down in water in really light wind , I have read in here , people saying to relaunch in really light wind that you should pull on a steering line and an opposing flying line to get the kite over on its wing , do you pull them at the same time or alternate ? like a sea saw type of thing ?and at edge of the window ?
I have seen an instructor who does some thing to get the kite in the air( looks like he yanks on kite really hard ) and then flips it over somehow would like any advice as can be a drama when in deep water and light wind , which is often when it can drop out of the sky , cheers iggy

Try swimming towards the kite to release tension from the lines, kite will roll over and pick a side to launch from

Other things are to use the board to create extra resistance to drifting downwind.

If the wind is just slightly too light to get the kite off the water, try using a combination of pumping the upper rear line and the front lines alternatively to get the kite into the air. The rear line makes it tilt back and the front lines make it tilt forward and you want it to stay slightly tilted back as you pump it into the air.

Great video going to try it out next time for sure. One question though, why would it help depowering the kite?? I though you would want it more powered up.

Because there isn't enough power to get the kite far enough upwind and launch it so with it deep in the window it would be over sheeted and the depower reduces that.

Here's another way to relaunch - again with the depower on until the kite is high in the air.

I'm only a newbie, but I've also found pulling the depower full on makes it move towards the edge and stand up 99% time - my kite will usually launch before it gets to the edge of the window in light air, then I let out the sheet (power on) once it is up. I also keep my feet in the board & lay back to slow my drift and create a bit of apparent wind for the kite - also in possition to start as soon as it is up.

As soon as it hits the water down wind of me, I pull on max depower.
