Have seen few times people saying they did a kitesurf course of 1 week, i think it's overseas but not sure.
Does anybody know where I can find that?
Thanks a lot.

Any reputable kite shop are more than happy to give you lessons over a week, or two even. Just a matter of good conditions and your ability to fork out the $$$ dosh. Don't go overseas for lessons, especially France or Indo. We have some of the best if not the best instructors in the world.

During Sept, you will be alright coming up to southport Qld for a week take some lessons and get out there with your new skills the rest of your week. Plenty of good instructors (including me) here with families and m8's and other good reasons to teach in Australia.

The ability to fork out the $$$ is one of the criteria to look for some lessons away.
Heard about a week course in Tarifa then was wondering if we don't have anything closer.
I'd love to take a week off work and do that... in Australia (as far as I know) it's all about hours 2 or 3... (with the exception of an instructor that does weekend away, great stuff, great instructor...but not often enough unfourtunately) I want to learn this so bad and I need more than that.
Thanks for replying.

Check out exmouth kite centre, possibly one of the most pristine places in aus or the planet, add to that a 1st class instructor in equally good water conditions, reasonable flights from Perth to exmouth/ learmouth range of accomadation from campervan / camping to resort, surf, sup, fish, dive, explore , top destination

I second this totally. Exmouth is an unbeatable location for so many reasons including kiting and just being there.

Most instructors in Oz are backpackers with IKO certs. Most of them travel the world so I don't see what sort of differences you would get by going overseas....

You can get IKO certification after a one week course followed by a few hours of shadowing. Only requirements are to be able to ride, turn and do a simple jump both ways. In France, you have to do a 10 month full time course so can you explain why lessons would be good in France?

I have worked for 3 schools in Australia and I can tell you that 2 of them were absolutely shocking. In short it comes down to values. Some schools actually care about their students but most of them just see the$$$$.

Nothing wrong with going overseas as long as you do your homework and make sure that they will teach you to be independent on the water (self rescue, body drag upwind, etc....).
