Hi
I've been kiting for a few years. Started on surfboard self taught.
Get lessons!.
I want a twin tip for when I get sick of bashing around in the chop
on a surfboard.

I am about 92 kg. I want something comfortable in the chop for 18kn +

cheers

137-140cm will work best for a range of conditions... Don't go bigger - you'll hate it, don't go smaller - you'll never get going...

I'm just a little heavier than you and my 140 North Xride soaks up the chop really well. I'd try the 136 as well as the 140 though.

Medium size as Rhys said, and something with a bit of rocker and flex to soak up the chop. Naish Momentum?

A must to try board is Ocean Rodeo Mako 140, I gues you must have heard about this one, afterall its the best production made board ever made for riding in any sort of chop and not only.
I have a number of boards I ride but always come back to this one when chop gets really nasty or when Im going to ride more than 3hrs or when my knees are smashed from previous day etc.
If you like jumping but dont like hard landings its also great board , there is plenty of other boards better for big air but with MAKO every landing is soft landing, unless you land on your back of course.

What is the single fin like? How does it ride compared to a twin tip?

Its hard to answer this ? single fin on std tt would achieve nothing but stuffing such board .
In case of MAKO it is just integral part of the whole design, namely massive concave-18mm, big rocker and specific board shape, all that make this board unique and IMHO no other board comes even close when it comes to riding in chop or just comfort of taking long session, by long I mean 3 to 6 hours in one hit, one of the reason for this is the fact that its the only board you ride no back foot heavy in fact you can ride it 50/50 you can easily imagine what it does to your feet and knees during long sess. or heavy chop.
The topic of the best board for riding in chop or messy waves pops quite often on forums, people come with all sort of boards but the fact is all those boards are the same **** with small diffrences that make them more or less suitable to riding in heavy chop but they are all no comparison to the legend of single finb MAKO

Hi try the nobile 50/50 ive found its great in the surf eats up chop carves quick and hard rides down the face of a wave like a surfboard, has heaps of rocker, but still goes up wind, only comes in bigger sizes smallest one is 139*39 but has different sized fin options
Have fun

Like Koma said Naish Momemtum, I'm 92kg was out today in 15-18knots on a 12m kite with the 134 x 42, short enough to hold down some serious power, but wide enough to use when the winds light.
