hi my misses is new to kiting. iv just bought her a crossbow 2009 and she's quite confident flying the kite but when she happens to let go of the bar being so short she can't seem to get a hold of the kite bar again? without really struggling.... what should i do?

Yeah that's true didn't think bout tryin a seat harness u can pick them up pretty cheap

Try yanking on the centre line through the bar, this will bring it closer to be able to reach.

I have found that the bar throw on my switchblades, where too much, especially during stronger winds in the upper part of the kites wind range. I switched to a different brand, and now dont have that problem.

I recently bought a Cabriha spring from the kite shop for $15 and installed it on my 2010 IDS bar, spring came standard from about 2011 onwards I think. Helps keep the bar and de power all within reach and easier to un twist lines etc.
Takes about a minute to install too, simply start in the middle of spring and coil the spring over the centre lines above the bar and de power Bungay retainer. Works great on 2010 bar and might also work on 2009

Cab is really onto the game here to, they do a "ladies model". A m8's missus had lotsa probs with this also and insteada the seat he went the new kite option. More dollars but all us blokes in the group have a nice new 6m to borrow on windy days! It has a shorter throw for the girls & i think some pink in the sail or some love hearts or flowers.... Didn't notice a spring thing but anyway it worked good and my m8's missus is stoked. It cost him a packet but. A seat is an easy fix if the kite is already rockin'.
