iv'e flown the dream 12 and the m5 12 and impacts, tribals and previous models.....
the impacts are the **** compared to the dream, they are a step faster, smoother pull and with a lot more depower from just the bar movement, they eat the gusts, if thats what you want... if you think the dream was a bit fast and want to slow down and get more hang time then the m6 would be better, its more for hooked in riding, massive booosts or massively and i mean hugely (expert) powered unhooked riding, and the tribal is in between both, with the greatest depower of the lot but a little slower than the impact.

if your not sure what to get, i would go the impact, it will garanteed put a smile on your dial and be a good huge difference to the dream that your riding now.

Both the impact and tribal, take a few sessions to get jumps dialled in.

Once you've clicked on the right technique for the Impact it jumps with the best of them. Plus you can send it back near horizontal and still recover for a smooth landing.

The Tribal, with its extra C/loop line length gives you a bit more depower, that lets you hold more edge till you pop and heave in on the bar. It then time to contact Air traffic control.
However the Tribal likes to be not over sent, and likes more air pressure in the LE.

And while the Tribal has more depower, the Impact actually is more controllable at the very top of their windranges. meaning in say the 13m sizes you would take the Impact out in a couple more Knots than the Tribal.

even if you tossed a coin to choose between them, whichever one came up heads you would be stoked in once dialled in.

Can't help with the M6 but I've got a M5 16m for sale. fantastic condition red/blue with bar/lines/pump and bag. Must sell as I'm heading O/S. $1100

I decided to go to F-one kites in January after riding the 9m dream 05 of one of my friends, and I had the same issue, M6, Impact or Tribal?

I had not gone through the transition into unhooked riding yet, so it made things even harder to make my mind. However I have always liked doing big airs with big hangtime. The guy at the shop then told me to go for the 12 m2 M6. It's written on the bag; "Power under control", and it truly is. And the wind range is incredible, 12 knots to "how much you want" (I took it out in 30knots, but might handle more). You can adjust the 5th line length and get more out of your kite.

Bar pressure: as I said “Power Under Control”, the bar position itself where it should be. Big Gusts are not an issue anymore.

Turning: Really quick, the kite reacts instantly.

Upwind: That's another thing that amazed me; I am always able to go upwind, even in 12 knots. And even with my small board (125).

Jumps: BIG! And you stay in control…

Unhooked: Well I am not an expert, but last month I passed my first Backspin kiteloops and frontspin downloops. Still working on the handle pass though… However it’s true that it will require more skills the more wind there is.

Safety: Well, Power Control, and 5th Element. Says it all…

All in all I reckon it’s a great Kite.

If you give me your e-mail address, I can send some pics… Also, I will be going to Mauritius in 2 months for the winter winds, where there is an average wind of 25-30 knots everyday for about 3-4months. I might need to have a smaller kite. So give me a buzz if you are interested in this one.

I have been told the bar pressure on the M6 has been reduced from that of the m5. You don't notice bar pressure until your a) overpowered or b, underpowered and pumping the kite all the time... and the bar pressure on the new impact for example is probably about 20-50%less than that of the m5 and dream3 ie, first thing i notice is arms don't ever get tired. Where are you located because your best bet would be to get in contact with a retailer and try them out.... I know xshore had impact/tribal and could possibly get an m6 for you to demo.
