So, is there a safety leash that will not accidently eject when you crash (whilst unhooked)?

I've had my kites fully releaseed twice this season already...

I.e. you crash and the QR on the leash rubs against your body as you roll or whatever, and releases it self...

I'm happy to pay... i just have no idea these days if anyone actually makes high quality kite gear that works well... So curious if other kiters who unhook a lot have similar issues, and found a product that works very well...

That looks like your standard slider release system, they are prone to that once they start to wear. There is/are a couple that are spring tension release I think core kites has one of them?

North ones are like a hair trigger if your leash is tensioned and you accidentally hit it.

They're all much the same, just get one with a float so you can't half hitch your arm or your bar.

i have more of a problem with the metal clip thing straightening out. i usually get about 2 months or so out of one before it straightens out but the other day i straightened out a new one in one session. i bend them back and get a bit longer out of them but usualy they are pretty weak by then. my kite has ejected once from the release being pulled so i always check it between tricks now. but never really had an issue.

yeh me too, I thought this was just a freaky thing that happened to me!

Got a ion handle pass leash seems to be good and also has a stronger thicker clip

After too many issues with the usual carabiners, I'm going to try these guys: www.ronstan.com.au/marine5/range.asp?RnID=225A


Takes 2 more seconds to attach but the breaking load is 3 times as much!
