Hi earlydazer,

Nice picture, have you got more of them?
Have you also got some details pictures of the Tribal because i cannot find any of these pictures on the internet-;(
And i am really interested in the kite! I live in the cold Holland water is 4 degrees and there are no Tribals available here yet, that sucks!

Nice one of the Tribal in Stop & Go mode, I found it stayed put when the bar is not held at all.

One point for future photogenic validation.

SVEN, don't tell me we have to send you one of ours.
the site www.f-onekites.com has a diagram of the line setup for tribals in the Tribal section. nothing else will look too different except the performance.

Kiteloops.
yea, found that out doing a back roll, forgot to be careful of uneven bar pressure.

would have been way easy if i'd really pulled on the bar.

I had a question on another thread the other day about Bow kites beingh better in gusts. On Sunday here we were riding in quite gusty conditions. First on the Bow kite, it was good as long as you can ease off on the bar when the gust hits. If I was riding with the stopper engaged and a gust hit they are just as punchy as a C kite. Then I switched to a 13 Tribal and I must say this kite is smoother than a bow by quite a way.

It also outshone the bow in jumping stakes as the bows dont seem to jump as well in the lower end of thier wind range.

Tribal was heavier on the bar than the Impact when unhooked but still ok. Unhooked one hand kiteloops werent a problem.

I am assuming that from the feedback here and from those I have given a go of the demo too.

That the Tribal is a safe bet for anyone looking for a kite that can deliver both in performance and safety.

As a retailer I know I am confident that my customers will be happy.

that might sound lame to some, but customer satisfaction is important.

hey,

got an 11m² tribal and had it out in very gusty conditions (inward
lake, czech republic) - 15 to 30 knots.

have to say that i just love it!!!!

never thought i would love a kite more than my beloved sonic 14m² but
i guess i was wrong there... the tribal 11m² is just so smooth and
safe!

now my question (mainly to RAL INN, Tony):
i will quite probably go for an all-tribal-quiver.
i am 80 kg, riding 128cm, 136cm and door (160cm) boards, consider myself intermediate. ;)

should i go for two tribals (9 and 13) and sell my 11m² OR
should i go for three, which would be 8, 11 and 15?

(i also got a sonic 8m² which i really like, so the 3-kite solution
will "only" involve buying the 15m² tribal)

MY MAIN CONCERN HERE IS:
is the tribal 15m² really suited for lightwind?
e.g.: sub 10 knots on a door-style board?

i mean the windrange given on the f-one homepage states
8 to 18 knots. topend should be quite right (not really
a concern i think...) but the downend... hm, not sure about this...

for the 11m² it`s 12-25 knots -> absolutely NO question about the
high-end, but 12 knots... do not think so... would say more like 15 to 30+ ;)

you have certainly ridden the 15m² tribal!
please give me advice because i have an opportunity to get
a deal on a 15m² tribal!!! ;)

thanks a lot!!!!

well i managed to get a go on a 15 Tribal yesterday, but on land. Wind was avg 12knots mayb less, with lulls down to about 7 or 8 knots. The kite was really grunty in the avg wind and didnt have much trouble staying in the sky on the lulls. I sat there with the kite on about 50% depower seeing what it would do and it did stall a bit, but floated down and regained power within a second or two. I am about 70kgs by the way. If i powered it up fully on my mountainboard (sorry i know u guys are kitesurfers, i will be one too in next few weeks!) i would have been hammering along. This is definately an excellant low wind kite.

Hi Fritz, good to see you are having fun.

The 15m Tribal is like a fast 14m 05 kite. But with the bottom end being a bit more grunty. Also the speed gives you a little bit more bottom end by working the kite.
The 13m is more fun but only about 1-2kts worse in light wind.

I'm 95kg and only use a 125x39cm board and the only difference in bottom end is the amount of working the kite I do, I also was having fun at 25kts on the 15m but wave riding was hard. Kept getting pulled off wave, but jumps were fantastic.

I think your 11m will be your favourite kite as this seems to be the optimum size for Impacts and Tribals, so go the 15m as I believe that even in low winds it will be fun to fly, not a slug like most big kites.

As for published wind ranges F-one seem to be very conservative with top end which is good but a bit the opposite with bottom end.

We must all try to test for ourselves.

mattdez, welcome to softer landings and cold water therapy.

I've my tribals for 2 months now and the more I use them, the more I love them...

With 80 kg you will not need a 8m² unless you live in a place with often nuclear winds. (>30 knots)

I'm 70 kg with a 128*37.5 jaime pro board.
With my 13 kiting starts at 10 knots. Bot NO WAVES and NO CURRENT. 10 knots with onshore wind and 1 meter waves: forget it. The kite is not grunty enough. You will make speed, and by the first wave you hit you wil completely loose all you speed. Fun starts with the 13 at 12-13 knots until 25 knots.
The 9 comes out the bag around 18 knots until 30 knots (maybe even more).
My friend has a 15-11 tribal quiver. I only tried his 15 once. More grunty than the 13, but much slower too I think... You will only win 1 or 2 knots with the 15. Better invest in a bigger board (mutant?) and get the 13.
But As you have already a 11, I should go for the 15-11 quiver (unless if you can resell your 11 without loosing too much money I should go for 13-9 quiver). With 80 kg you can hold your 11 until 30 knots.
The tribal is not the best low wind kite, but it is absolutely not bad !

For me Tribal = comfort + performance.

This weekend we had very gusty winds overhere. ONly 3 kiters were comfortable on the water: 3 tribals ! (maybe bows should have been too... but there were no bows)

thanks guys!

have put my money down now... it`s tribals 11 and 15.

guess i`ll have to wait and see now.

i think it should be a perfect quiver now, as i also
got (and love!) an 8m² sonic.

again thanks a lot! i`ll post my experiences once i got
the 15m² out.

Hey guys i have dilema

Thinking of selling my M5 14m2 and getting tribal but witch one?? 13 or 15?? that is my proplem :) i worried about low wind off 13 cos i like the M5 in "low" winds.. to me that is about 14knots

i just did buy new Tribal 9m2 and now im also worried that if i buy 15 that then cap is too big?

im about 97kg and i ride Trax 135x39

Hey Jason what you say about the trible sounds good.

What sounds better are those un-hooked one handed kite loops!
I would love to see some of them going down.

waldo , i had the 12 m5, and went to a 13 impact, i think the bottom of the 13 tribal would be at least the same, if not lower than the impact as the lines are longer i think....
and the difference between the m5 and impact is the 13impact has a LOT lower wind range than the m5 12 did
and the 13 pulls harder in the lighter wind than the m5 12 ever could
,,so speaking i often use a 13 impact with a 9 and thats my entire quiver, theres no need to get a 15 with a 9, and your right if you did get a 15 the gap would be larger....but
i weight 75 , if i weighed over ~85 kgs, i would go the 15 vice 13 and accept the gap

I'd think twice about going the 15m option too. Better off with the turning speed of the 13m and maybe adding extensions to your lines in lighter winds. Personally I prefer the smaller Tribals and the larger Impacts. Pitty the Impact doesn't come in a 15m.
