Disclosure: Store Owner - Ocean Rodeo Agent

The Ocean Rodeo MAKO has been in production with only minor upgrades along the way for about 10yrs. In the 140, 150 & 165 sizes its a dual purpose TT or Mutant. Supplied with 1 set of 2 x central TT fins & a 3 x set of thrusters.
It is a very left-of-centre design concept which defies much of the science behind modern standard TT and Mutant board design.
TT set up is 2x central fins at either end of a huge concave to rolled rails. Straps are central for TT at about the standard TT spacing & splay. Set as a Mutant the straps need to be set back to match standard surfboard type setup.
The 140 & 150 use standard TT pads & straps. The King has an EVA deck & is supplied with double entry surf type straps.
If you are looking at a non surfboard for wave riding with some of the abilities of a twinny OR if you are into regular long downwinders with waves but also wanting to play along the way then the Mako is worth considering.

I didnt get a chance to ride any of 3 Makos we had available at Kitestock - 140 ; 150 & the 165 King.
I spoke to 5 serious testers so for now just offering up their reaction as an intro to getting some serious reviews posted.
2 testers - 1 on the 150 1 on the King
Both summed it up as "not what Im looking for". Understandable as it will never be the board for everyone.
2 testers of the King were frothing "nothing like anything else Ive ridden" would sum up their reaction. Very comfortable, smooth and awesome turning were features also mentioned by both.
1 tester of the King came in after about 15 mins and ordered one on the spot. He was pretty much the 'downwinder' type rider mentioned above and he was frothing at its ride in the cross-wind choppy mush.
More technical info to follow as we get more time-on-water to base reviews on.
