Hey Guys,
lookin at the new Matrix on the wipika site, will anyone have one to demo sometime soon? looks very very interesting :-)
just what im after, Bow kite depower, 5th line, surf system... WOOT...
and has anyone got some picys, i heard theres a proto in WA somewhere?
we get our 13.5m demo in a week or so.
could be fun to see how the settings vary the style.
the Wipika Surf System is just so simple, and I couldn't resist trying it. It actually works and feels like being able to control power like being hooked in while the bar feels way more free.
that's only a quick try and not in waves, but it does feel like it works.
So roll on 2006 C kites
f-one Impact and Tribal
wipika Indy
North Vegas
this new C Kite curved tip style is exciting.
all we need is a catchy genre name.

It pains me to say, that my demo will be sent from Noosaville.
So those bloody Qldlanders sould see them first.
I am going to have to go to a secret location to try mine first as the crowd wanting a go is getting out of hand.
I have warned my customers to be quick or be prepared to wait.

I've tried them.[}:)]
Good strong wind kites (well 15knts+),
profiles are fast but forgiving, great depower range on the strap.
Canopy has plastic tube camber inducers (dont break like north ones do) These will back wind/releasing power during kiteloops then pop out quickly after kiteloops, Making it quicker to recover from a stall = more fluid riding.
Struts and LE are respectable size, Made tough and kite is less likely to fold up in the water. Pump these up tight.
Webbing LE ripstop, good taped and sewn strut ripstop.
All line connections are on the LE, Built tough so line connections resist cranking tugs in all directions.
Kite excelles at power tricks. CLS works better the more power you release it under.
Soft bar, soft turning saves your arms for those explosive moments when you need your full strength.
Up wind is pretty good. Kite feels like it has little power until you ride fast. I recomend riding a fast/flatter rockered board with this kite for its full potential.
Lift is explosive enough. If you want hang time, it is best with additional harmess loop.
Wave riding is good, The curved LE porduces tip lift also smooth laminar flow over the tips up the canopy when kite is more down wind = less stalling.
But Unhook,
With the wave system the kite slides off the wind and rides down the line well without having to edge soo much for turning.
You will be suprised by the depower potential (not like ridiculous kook style flat kites) Think about riding faster bigger boards, (bigger boards are actually more comfortable to ride, more fluid and good combination with Matrix 2)
CLS Bar is the best 5th line system, Feel free to compare with any 5th line system for crash/relaunch speed or depower ability. The adjustable stopper balls also adjusts the 5th line easily.
06 Bar has more direct feel to the kite too.
Totally customisable,**** loads of adjustment to customise your line tensions.
I recommend tensioning the 5th line around the same as the turning/back lines. Watch the 5th line and be sure it just comes under tension when the kite powers through the window. This way you will have bottom end power on the side of the window.
This is the optimum CLS setting. Jedi secret
Ral Inn, Could you please pay attention to features such as:
Low end/Hi end compared to Indy, and whatever other kites you wish to compare it to, as well as:
Stability/turning speed?
Maybe Upwind.
I would be interested in hearing about these things in your review, when you finally get the kite.
Thank You.
It's still coming.
By the queue developing for a test, we should have a decent concensus of opinion.
It probably will arrive at the start of a no wind period like we have never seen, knowing my luck.
At any rate we shouldn't worry about its top end and the bottom end should be easily as good as any 14m.
