Fellow Kiters,

Last season (my first full season) I rode mainly a cabrina element 12m which I understand is low/mod aspect and pulls big time down wind (otherwise a really easy kite to fly).

I also have 2005 Naish boxer 9m and 16m 04 airush lift...(both go well updwind)

My problem is that I want more upwind ability in my main kite (the 12m)... and therefore less pressure on the knees (and therefore more years of kiting ahead). I also want more depower (more years of living ahead).

I am looking into RRD BType or Boxer SLE for this season.. (Hybrid/bow kites)

Anyone have any suggestions for a good all round kite with good upwind? I ride in surf and flat water 50/50.

Cheers

ps... maybe also a shark reppelent device (see previous comment) jks

the f-one06 impact 11 would be a good size, its light on the bar pressure and very light to turn so your arms will never feel heavy if the wind drops and you nede to work the kite, great upwind plus bow equivelent depower with the ckite direct pull, minus the pulleys and cost. they are on special at the moment I believe as the new stuff(07) will be arriving shortly.

Its worth looking at any of the 07 Bow kites, most of them are pretty good. Demo as many as you can. Boxer SLE, Nova 2, Switchblade 2, Crossbow 2.

I'm riding the Nova 2 and its really good. Super light bar pressure and huge range.
