Went out at Largs on Saturday. Sweet, with an OK wave. Is there anywhere metropolitan which will have a better wave? I was wondering whether Henley's shorebreak might work in the right tide - so the sandbar is breaking

Any suggestions?

I'd head down south, but unfortunately a bit time poor

The best place in a stormy like on Sat morning is Seacliff (needs a fair bit of west in it though)- nice little break out there. The Henley to Tennyson downwinder found us some nice waves in the arvo.

Seacliff out the front of the sailing club is probably your best bet for strong SW winds in winter. Or as Airush mentioned, the trusty Henley to Tennyson down winder.
See ya on the water.

Depends on what way my arse is facing when I'm in the bath!!! Nothing funnier than blowing rubber ducky from the middle into the side of the bath!!! He looks like he has real fun riding those waves!!! Thats what I call a down winder!!!!

No, more like a chat and the last couple of beers you have before the men in the white suits come and take you away!
