Hi all,
I was at 3rd ramp on Sat and the swell is on the rise. Looks like a great weekend coming up.

The Tide and Swell looks as though it's going to be fairly high over the weekend so don't get caught out with 2 wheel drive vehicles on the beach late afternoon.

For those who find the swell to big or if the wind is to off shore for their liking then there is another option at Lake George about 30 k's down the road. Turn towards the lake at the Woakwine cutting turn off.
If you want smaller waves then the surf beach at Beachport.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Long beach breaks alot like Goolwa, so you can kite the inside section no problem. Then if you want to step it up, you can just head out the back chasing the big stuff.

Dudes this was the biggest weekend.. had a ball, it was perfect on Saturday. Beats, Beach, heaps of kites out

Setup was mad, people were absolute legends. Big ups Stewie for tending the Bar Friday and Pete for being chill and keeping us stocked with stuff and anyone who gave us a hand.

Saturday night is is a blur and word is i got out to the car where my mate was waiting to head back to Adelaide coz he's a pussy... and i passed out on the bonnet before being able to get in the car !!!! Don't remember the whole trip back to Adelaide besides us running out of Fuel just outside Tailem at 2am!

Hopefully some alright conditions Sunday?

On a side note, thanks to everyone who was giving the music big ups all weekend, we got many kind words and offers of kites to use haha! (Cheers All) If anyone wants any information regarding any of the Djs i use for parties and the like for any kind of event (I know many) or any info on the music played over the 20hours or similar it was on drop me a line on msn or similar; alot of people asked over the weekend and didn't have any cards on me:

To all the competitors and hangeroners, thanks for making Robe 2008 massive.. Thanks to the SAKSA boys for their efforts, the boys from Onboard and Gary from Red ball. A big thanks to the DJs, they made it. It was nice to be able to chill out at 3 rd with tunes.

The robe easter classic over the last 3 years has been getting bigger and better each year, With red bull coming to the sponsor party, they are already talking about bigger things for next year and well as trying for other big sponsors as well.

What makes Robe so good?? Is it the chilled out style of the comp?? Is the Saturday night at the Robe Pub that no one can remember what happened? Or is all the coopers and red bull you can drink??

If anyone can think of how to improve the Easter classic let us know, as plans are starting for next year already.

Thanks.

DAMN, What a massive weekend that was, i have only just recovered. Well i think we all agree on what a great event and weekend it was. The surf and wind was awesome on Friday and Saturday, and i dont think we could have asked for much more. A MASSIVE thanks needs to go out to Gary from Redbull for bringing down the Redbull tee pee's and keeping us awake all weekend, Coopers for the massive Friday night party, Hayden and Alex from Wink Entertainment for busting out the sweet tunes day and night through the comp, Little Creatures and all the boys from Onboard for organising this awesome event. Also all the companies that donated prizes to all the winners, and the door prizes, Neil Pride, Cabrinha, Rip Curl, Quiksilver, Slingshot, Mystic, Naish, North, Globe, Robe Bakery, Robe Butcher, Schweppes, Cadbury, Derringers Music, Red Baron, South Coast Wind and Wave, Evan for the great trophies and everyone else who helped out. With out all of these people and companies we could not hold such a successful and awesome event. So try to remember to support the companies that are supporting kitesurfing in South Oz.

Congratulations to all the winners;

Mens Open:
1st, Rhys Gardner
2nd, Travis Murphy
3rd, Mark Sykes

Womens Open:
1st, Inge Giil
2nd, Susan Hall

Mens Freestyle
1st, Ben Winding

BRING ON NEXT YEAR, Cheers Kitecroc

My apoligies, i forgot to mention the winner of the encouragement award who received a brand new Cabrinha Kite was Tommy Scott.
Also a massive thanks needs to go out to young Harry for doing no less than 4 trips each way out and back from third ramp. So the rest of us could have a couple of bevies with out the worry of driving on Friday night, Massive thanks out to you hazza

Also if any one has some good photos from the weekend, especially kiting shots (i have no shortage of slightly intoxicated shots), could you please let me know. As i'm after some for a couple of articles.
