I'm a massive advocate for Milang but finally Geoff can stop calling me on the weekends for a wind report!

Simon has erected his automated weather station down at his Milang home, having moved it from Boggy.

For an automated wind report at:
Milang, call 0403914641
Goolwa, call 0400035917
Seacliff Nth, call 0400099263

Simon's not charging an additional fee this season, other than the normal cost to a mobile.

I'll be at Milang over the long weekend for anyone who's keen to join.
Water is back to about chest deep and the water temp was balmy enough for shorts last weekend... Hopefully there'll be some wind around...

Cheers,
Chappy

Chappy, When you say chest deep is that at the end of the jetty or in the middle of the lake? Last time I was at Milang the water was around 2 meters from the end of the jetty making it great for kiting not so great for sailing.

I wouldn't get too excited... It's generally chest deep in the channel running ENE off the end of the jetty...
There are still some spots that I can't touch further out but unfortunately it's pretty dangerous for a boat or cat. I ripped a fin box out of a sailboard last year when I hit a random sandbar at pace and it was a long walk of shame!
Also, don't get closer than 30m off the end of the jetty as there is still some submerged old jetty stuff in the mud.

Chest deep is good enough to hit Rhys' kicker though...? I'm sure Ev is tired having it at his place.

Hey the Boggy wind station was like an icon, I had it in my phone even if I never used it, it was like a wonder of the earth, glad to hear that it has found a home near a pub.
