After missing last weekends fun and games due to a trip to WA, i thought i would see if anyone is keen for another session down the mid coast this Sunday. Forcast at this stage is NW 18-22 with 1-2 foot swell.
Possible downwind run Southport to Mo's?

Hey Gibo.

Yep i will be keen for a down wind sesh Sunday.

I have already talked to a few other crew & they seem keen for a down winder, Southport to Moeys .

We just need to set a time to hook up at Southport or Moeys.

So far the forecast is looking good for it .

So who's getting on?

YEEEOOOOW!!

I would be keen for a downwinder from the wall on Sunday if there are a few interested. It's a bit far to go down South for me also. If there are a few keen, just propose a meeting time closer to the day?

oh and at least you can get out there, I just have to stay on the beach and take photos. although i am sure a downwinder would be good to learn how to ride my new board...

Good luck with the south run lads- I will be staying local but I am sure you guys will score the epic swell.....

Righto - call will be made sat nite for sure, time will be set for a henley meet up... Any body who is keen get there, It is a big downwinder- we were pretty tired only going to chicken shop last time so bring your fitness !

Keep talking it up.....it is definitely a great downwinder if the wind shows up !

Doolz if you don't come I will christen your new board and Simon I think it is about time you got on the water...although the photos from the last one look amazing- we would all be chuffed to have you out there with us !

If some crew are worried about the distance we will set up a mini run as well to chicken shop....

Check back Sat nite and get on it !

Sounds like there will be a good collection of kites up all over the coast on Sunday.

Also for those with a more, arrrhh, flexible work schedule, monday/tuesday
(wait and see for best day) is looking to be an absolute pearla down the mid coast with the swell kicking up to 2-3.
If anyone is keen for tuesday as well let me know.
cant wait to hit the water

So the call is- 9am at Fort St, There is a nice little carpark where we can load up some cars and trundle down to North Haven. 9am - if you aren't there we will be leaving.

Call me on 0418134873 if you have any questions. We will be doing a quick coffee and hot chips after the session on the way back to get the cars from North Haven....

Wind looks lightish but should be plenty for a downwinder........fire up- game on !

Hey Mick- Gibo is at work, he was speaking earlier about doing the downwinder then heading to the midcoast in the arvo....

I spoke to Backflip before - he and Dale will be down around Moana at some stage if anyone wants to join them, both are damn good guys....

Confirmed starters for tomorrow are ( in no particular order ) Jordy, Stewie, Tommy Scott, Rooboy, Trav, Inge, Doolz, Beaker, David, Ev, Tom, Sam, Martyn and Drew....possibles Gibo, Chappy, Ross, Wayne and more... Sounds like a fair crew will be on it. Matt will be taking some happy snaps along the way as will Simon if he can get his lazy ass out of bed !

If you don't know anyone and are keen, make the effort- you will walk away with a few extra friends from it !

PS- We will be leaving some cars halfway at the chicken shop for anyone who doesn't feel up to the whole journey....

18 kites started the downwinder- somehow after picking up a coupla stragglers along the way we finished with the nice round number of 20 kiters.... Good crew and super times.

There were some wet kites and some very sore legs by the end of it - but it was good to see big smiles on everyones faces.

Cheers to the crew who made the effort to come down- we will have to organise another soon...keep an eye out for some snaps of the group of kites rolling towards the jetty, looks really impressive

PS- if anyone wants a gerbil give me a call

The Midcoast down winder was awesome all tho there was only 3 of us & we all were there to bust the down winder cherry as none of us had done a down winder before LOL.

We started at Southport & made our way to Moeys, had some good little waves on the reefs on the way only 1 to 2ft but fun trying to smack em! Wind was a consistent NW 15 nts. All ended with smiles & a good sesh was had & no longer down winder virgins lol. Looking forward to doing another soon!!

Big thanks to Dale for the lift back to our cars!.

Epic - straight line distance of about 14km makes it about the longest downwinder I've done.

After 2 and 1/2 hours my thighs couldn't have taken much more.

Looking forward to seeing the jetty shots.
