The Freestyles are proceeding as planned on Saturday; Meeting time is 1pm for a 1:30pm competitor briefing. Sunday is still the back up day should we need it.

It is being held at the West Beach SLSC, NOT the West Beach Sailing Club.
The address is the corner of Seaview Rd and West Beach Rd.

We are expecting some SE but the seabreeze should come in S and fortunately that stretch of West Beach coast is still ridable with a bit of easterly in it.

Just pray that the wind gods favour us...!

If you are undecided as to whether you'll compete as you're still developing your skills in the sport, bring your gear down as we may run an Open Amatuer Division (limited tricks div) depending on conditions, time availability and numbers competing.

See you there.

We'll hang around for dinner at the club and have a few drinks. Those willing will be introduced to Gargle Blasters. I'll assume after his first and last 'lesson', Geoff won't be willing....
We're doing a combined Waves and Freestyles presentation night in March at the SLSC as well.

despite having a windless kitemare when it most mattered id just like to say a big thank you to those committee fellas who made it all happen, spending their day on the beach to ensure the good turn out enjoyed their time on the water - well done - it was a good advert for kitesurfing, saka, and south australia!

only suggestion - next time order some clean consistent wind

Hi all,
firstly thanks to everyone who came down to West Beach today including competitors, spectators, and supporters. Despite some variable (putting it mildly) wind conditions all divisions hit the water hard and it was a great effort by all. results will be announced at a later date, but the plan for tomorrow is to move the venue to the Chicken Shop at West Lakes Shores. Basically if you drive up past west lakes on Military Rd look for the Chinese Rest on your left and pull into the carpark.
The format will be announced pending wind conditions, but BOM is saying 20knots at outer harbour by 3pm.
the plan is
meet at chicken shop at 1pm

if you cant make the arvo session, there will be an after event casual food and drinks meeting at the West Beach SLSC at 6pm.
hope to see everyone there

Alot of people put in some seriously hard yards to make this event work.. Will Chapman sorted all the permits and really made it all happen. Having said that I think the committee as a whole deserves a pat on the back for everything they did and all the competitors deserve the same for their attitudes on the day. A massive thanks also to the non committee members who helped out with organisation for the event and judging and beach management on the day. We are very lucky to have people who are happy to give up their time to make an event happen and when a day is as good as yesterday was I am sure everyone will agree it was all worthwhile. Hopefully we will see you all at the Chicken Shop today !!!!

Good work too all yesterday. All we need is a PA system for next year, I will put my hand up for that unless the "Fun Police" has anything to do with it!!!!

A SAKSA newsletter is on its way out but nice work to all who competed and came along to support.
Congrats again to all of the winners; even in fluky conditions, the spectators still got a great show.
I think we'll change the name of the biggest stack award to "Ripped the hardest" for this year. Nice work Benny, very entertaining.

Looking forward to a Downwinder on Sunday.
Cheers

Sounds like i missed a good day. I had to work as per usual when a comp is on, just like easter every year.

CONGRATS TO RHY'S AND JARRAD, top stuff fellas. good to see the LF represented at the top of the field.

can't wait to ride again with you all as soon as the old sea breeze decideds to kick back in.
