Hi guys,

Just have some simple questions.

I am visiting S.Aust and staying in Glenelg later this month. As i am a beginner, where are the best beaches to go? I heard Henley is good?

Please advise as super keen to get into warmer water as Melbourne way to bloody cold!!! lol

Cheers,

MG

Hi Mg,

Visit this site to get all the information on most of the spots in SA and the rules that are specific to each area so you don't end up with a fine

http://www.saksa.com.au/?page_id=4

Generally a lot of learners start a Largs bay because there is a reasonable amount of shallow water. The beach also curves around meaning that if you are learning and you get blown down wind (S or SW directions) then you will generally find land fairly easily to commence the walk of shame

If you are willing to travel for about 1.5 hours then the best spot to learn in my opinion is Port Parham as there is shallow water forever and generally it is very flat in the 0.6-1.5m tide ranges.

Hope this helps. If you have any questions about Parham just send me a message or contact me through the parham kiteboarders facebook page.

Hi MG,

Thanks for dropping the SA crew a line mate. It's definitely the best way to do it.

There's a bunch of crew kicking around this time of year too if you're looking for someone to head down to the beach with. Be sure to put the call out on here for some mates and you'll no doubt have a bit of a posse to hit the water with.

Enjoy your trip to SA! It's a sick spot!

Cheers,
Jordan
