Christies Sailing club have installed a weather station and beach cam that shows beach conditions.
Christies has a good surf break called " Y-Steps " . The camera is aimed at this right hand break.

Can be accessed here: www.christiessailing.net Press the " Christies Weather " Button.

Regards

No offence but isnt that sailing club 30KM down the road? How relevant is this to our conditions?

I know ie. its less windy at Glenelg than at Henley beach.

Christies would be ok for kiting.

It is next to the surf club.

You should be able to find it on google earth.

Kited there noon today. Maxed out on my 7.0m, weather station said 40 knots.... Waves were sloppy but f@cking massive out the back. Dead on-shore. Only problem was there was hardly any beach, I guess 10m would be a generous guess. Location has potential

Lack of beach can happen when it is blowing 30+.

It is deeper water than the metro coast. Bigger waves.

Feel free to drop into the club on a saturday during sailing season or sunday arvo all year round.

Cheap drinks

Chris

So Tino, is that like 6 to 8 feet (12 to 16 foot faces on the wave), damn that would have been like charging Chopes, but down at Christies.
