What's the go at Henley this season?
At the end of last summer the word was not to use the 2nd ramp area to rig, to instead use the beach access at the car park next to the Torrens. Most people complied.
So far this season everyone seems to have gone back to 2nd ramp.
Is this just because the beach isn't very busy yet, or have things changed (due to the CASA permit??).
I'm happy enough to use either access, but if we've agreed with Council not to use 2nd ramp, then let's stop using it. I don't want to lose access to a spot 1 minute from home!
(. . . and yes, I'm a happily paid up SAKSA member)
PS. thanks to the SAKSA crew who put on the demo for the Metropolitan Seaside Councils group last week. Heard from a someone who went to it and the feedback was good.

Hi James,
There were some concerns from council last year, the main ones were the amount of equipment we left cluttering the beach and the proximity to other beach users.
If we all make a conscious effort to move up towards the Torrens outlet then we minimise the impact our activity has on other beach users.
What can you do this season at Henley to help ?
1. CASA exemption is between Gilmore St and the Torrens outlet, please ride within this area.
2. Keep your gear neat and tidy and away from walkway access.
3. Show consideration for other beach users by waiting for a clear path before launching and landing.
4. Stay well away from swimmers in the water- by law the distance is 50m.
5. Help your fellow kiters if you see them struggling in any way...
6. Politely inform those who may be ignorant of the expected behaviour and regulations in place.
Hope this helps- if you have any more queries please feel free to pm me and I will do my best to get you an answer...

Yep, wasn't too hard to take . . . Impossibles taken from where we stayed last May, 10 days of warm water, long walls, and not that crowded given all the other breaks near it that are easier to make.
Would be nice to pop out there for a quick one after work instead of Henley!
(With any luck I'll progress enough in the waves to pack the kite for next years Indo trip).
