The forecast for tomorrow (Tuesday) seems too good to be true:

Temperature: 25 degrees
Water Temp: 14-15 degrees
Wind: Northerly, Strong Wind Warning (ie. at some stage it will average over 25 knots)

...this may warrant a day off for me...

i am with you Godfather! i am definitely not working Tues.
am wanting to try out my new hybrid/surfboard in small/medium, but clean waves.
Am thinking mid-coast Moana etc?
Any suggestions from the experts out there for the perfect spot tomorrow????
What time and where?
Cheers

With a forecast like tomorrow, there is only one local spot, if you want waves, and that is either Southport or Seaford. Wednesday looks like classic North Haven, (the wall).

What a great day!
It was down to 7m kites for Tim and I at Parham (to do some GPS speed kiting).
The wind was epic up there - gusts were reaching about 40 knots. My 7m took off while still in the bag - I put it down, turned my head around for a few seconds, looked back - and its gone, nowhere to be seen! Then I saw some movement about 100m down the beach - it's my bloody 7m rolling in a bag!
Once pumped up it took 3 sandbags (about 8-10kg each) to hold it down firmly while I unrolled and connected the lines.

And then there was self launching - I couldn't take the sandbags off or the kite would fly away as soon as I let go of it (not to mention for me to run to the end of the lines and hook myself on ). In the end I ended up self launching with the 3 sandbags on - and guess what - it only took a split second for the kite to throw them off once I turned it to the self-launch position.
And then there was the infamous 1km Parham walk with the kite flying... I reckon the whole setting up/launching/walking business took us about an hour and a half (and it was all good fun)

Once in the water though, everything was fine. In fact both Tim and I even felt somewhat undepowered in the 25 knot lulls...But in between the lulls we managed to do some decent speed runs on the mirror-flat water and overall it was a fantastic, fun session and well worth me taking a day off.

Fortunately after you left POP had a blast on his kite and got some cracker waves and the wavesail crew had some 30knt + wind to blast in till dark

About the Pfd- a fellow sailor who got nabbed for not wearing a pfd did the right thing bought one and got slammed and rolled in bashams shore break last week and ended up with chipped cervical spine - because every time he tried to dive e corked back to the surface and got head planted - a very experienced surfer and wave sailor

Hope you are successful in your efforts to change the policing of the law
There are some angry wavesail crew at the moment because of the stupidity of this poorly thought out legislation

The wind certainly came up! I ended up getting blown off the water on a 10m! Thats terrible news about the injury at Bashams. I hope he will heal 100%. Any spinal injury is extremely serious. This highlights what we have all been saying. This is a case of a clear link between the law and a serious injury and is the direct result of that law being enforced in such a heavy handed manner.

Glad everyone got a sail-thanks again for the advice on mid-coast spots. These northerlies are tricky fellows this winter, but some really good times.
really sorry about the injury.
