Sorry guys and girls I know I'm dicing with death being a windsurfer posting on a kite forum but I figured it's worth a try

Just in the process of starting my own electrical & air conditioning Company. Starting from humble beginnings, I'm trying to think of unique ways of advertising.
Has anyone tried putting stickers on their sails or other gear, does it work? Has anyone got any cheap but effective ways of getting work? Anyone need a sparky??

Would love some input, enjoy Easter!

who is honestly going to look at your sail that closely?

wouldnt you be better off just advertising on your car?

The cost of the labels are relatively cheap considering how long they last, I think they could be Effective as it's not my only means of more to accompany other forms of advertising.I'm just starting something small that I can manage with my other job until things take off and My work load increases.
This isn't my only target market, however I have a lot of respect for other water uses and If I can offer a service where they will receive excellent service, advice and pricing then I'd like to do that.
I agree not many people are going to see the sail on the water and think “**** man where's my pen I need to write that number down” it's more for the other surfer's, sailor's, kiter's and all the other people that enjoy the water. It's a talking point and considering a lot of these come from all walks of life I'm sure one of them Sooner or later might need my services.
Consider how Many times you sail past each other and then Chat on the beach to complete strangers. The guy who Came to concrete our drive way was a kite Surfer I got talking to at Caloundra, the tradie who built me a custom study among other things around the house is a kite surfer from Sandgate I think a little advertising can go a long way.

The best bit of information I can give to you if your starting your electrical business on the coast.....Try some where else as there is over 605 electrical contracting company all competiting against one another. If your after work the trend is to head to the mines... Heaps of work, great conditions..

I think it's a great idea. Your best business is going to be word of mouth.
Can't think of a better way than "there's a sparky who sails around here that's got his number on his sail. I'll get it next time I see him"
Good write off as well. Might even be able to claim the board if your accountant's good enough

Forget about advertising on your gear. Of you start your own business you won't have any time to go windsurfing. Chasing bills, doing quotes, wages, BAS. But good luck.

Nigerobo.... You are exactly right.. there will be no time to go wind surfing that is for sure.. sometimes its alot less stress full working for wages. least at the end of the day you leave your work behind and kite your afternoon away..
