Heh Mark, KFC's is notorious for good Chicken and Chips on any South winds and great for Zinger Burgers on any Northerlies. Hope this helps

Seriously though, KFC's favours an incoming tide on any of the Southerly winds as the water is flowing towards the Nerang River (or Southport Bridge) or any outgoing tides on the Northerlies as the water is flowing out towards the Seaway in sub 20 knot winds as you would be kiting oppossite to the tide directions in these cases which helps to maintain upwind riding. Generally we find the currents are not overly strong arounds KFC as they are not in the main channel therefore when the wind is above 20 knots it is not an issue in any wind / tide direction to maintain upwind riding abilities. The exact opposite tide to wind is required for Shearwater (or North of Wave Break Island) as the tidal flow heads towards the Coomera River. Tomorrow there are winds forecast from 15 to 20 knots from the South East so at KFC's is going to favour kiting there on the incoming tide. But there again plenty of guys and gals will be Kiting or attempting to Kite regardless of what the tide direction is doing.
