Hi!

I just arrived in Brisbane, and will be here for at least 5 months.

I was wondering if there were any flat spots nearby, on the sunshine or gold coast. I don't have a car yet so it would me by train at the beginning (hope to find a cool van soon!)

See you !

Everywhere is flat at the mo cos there's no wind lol. But seriously without a car, your best bet is Sandgate. Take train up from Central station, short walk to beach. our school/shop is right on the beach too. Come in and say hi and we will introduce you to the area. Once you have a car there are many other spots you can hit for flat water too. If you need more details PM me. Welcome to Brisbane!

Brighton Beach @ half low tide/low tide Kite past the oyster bed and head towards the channel that goes under the new useless big bridge. Yo'll find a sandbar it works in North/North Easterlies. Thats your best bet...be aware most of it is like waist to knee deep.
