Just informed we have a company conference at Novotel Twin Waters in Feb. Is it OK to launch into the river mouth from the north bank - ie walk down tracks from the end of Noth Shore Rd? More likely I'd launch from the beach in front of the resort and kite down to the mouth?
If I can't bring my kite gear I assume the shops are on the South bank?
Any other advice appreciated - I did search before posting this...
You can do it provided the wind is right - as anywhere. Launching from the beach out front is easiest as it is a little bit of a walk to the rivermouth from Twin Waters, but if the river is your destination then you can walk down and launch around the entrance no problems.
Good question. It has been too long since I went out for just a beer up there, and many more on this site that have better local knowledge than me. It is a very different place than the Gold Coast. Much more restrained and family oriented.
Are you looking for a nice afternoon session or a night time rage? Former I would probably hit a surf club - Moloolaba? Coolum?, latter.....sorry out of my depth to even suggest anywhere.
Twin waters is not close to anything so expect a cab or bus ride somewhere - even across the river to Maroochydore is a long way around.
